Located in beautiful British Colombia, Victoria is home to some amazing sights, eats, and vacation opportunities.
Not least of which are its museums.
Though they’re often overlooked, many of the museums in Victoria are hidden gems and are worth a visit if you have the time. A few of our favorites include the Royal British Columbia Museum and Craigdarroch Castle (yes, Craigdarroch is a real castle, and it’s stunningly beautiful. It’s a great experience for castle-loving youngsters and adventurous adults alike!)
And the best part? Both of these museums will store your luggage for you while you explore. Note that you will have to take your bag with you when you leave.

Victoria is famous for its beauty, and it’s easy to see why. Not only are their surroundings naturally stunning, but they’ve taken care to make the city itself aesthetically appealing as well.
And one of the most beautiful areas of all in the city of Victoria itself is Beacon Hill Park.
Consisting of 75 acres of green space, walking paths, ponds, playgrounds, and sports courts, Beacon Hill also features a magnificent view of the Juan de Fuca Strait. Explore British Columbia’s native flora and fauna – including geese, swans, blue herons, turtles, ducks, otters, squirrels, and more! And don’t forget to visit the park’s 127-ft. tall totem pole for a one-of-a-kind experience.
If you want to experience Beacon Hill Park, we recommend storing your luggage at Clipper Vacations, just a few blocks away. They offer affordable luggage storage at $3 per bag when the terminal is open.

Situated among some of nature’s most breathtaking backdrops, Victoria is renowned for its beauty, appealing colonial architecture, and easy access to amazing outdoor adventures. It’s also the capital of British Columbia. From melt-in-your-mouth seafood to unspoiled wilderness to great shopping, there’s something to experience for everyone here.
First, Victoria can be very chilly, especially in the Fall, Winter, and Spring months, so dress warmly. It’s best to bring a jacket even in the summer since nighttime lows can still be quite cold.
Victoria and its surrounding outdoor paradise cover a very large area. If you plan to see more of the city than just the Downtown area, or if you’re an outdoor enthusiast who’s bent on exploring, we highly recommend renting a car. (Parking here is much easier than in nearby Vancouver!) However, if you’re just staying Downtown, most places are within walking distance.
We’ve already talked about Beacon Hill Park, the Royal British Columbia Museum, and Craigdarroch castle, and stand by our opinion that they’re must-sees.
But they’re not all Victoria has to offer – far from it!
Be sure to walk or drive by the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, and take a stroll on Government Street. Their stately architecture is guaranteed to impress.
For nature lovers, there are many ways to experience the natural beauty that surrounds Victoria. Check out the Vancouver Island Rainforest or go on a whale-watching tour. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg!
